Its hotttt, the dog flies are biting on the beach and the kingfish are biting on the bouyline.
We have been trolling the sides of the bouyline along the bottom break with frozen bait on a duster rig. We have been using Penn conventional 4/0 to 6/0 reels with a full spool of 18-20 lb line on a 6'6 fast taper rod. We troll 3 rigs, one off each side and one right in the prop wash in the middle. Trolling speed has been 4-7 kts depending on current speed, we've had good success with a 18-24 inch coffee color wire leader and a pearl color duster terminated on three #6 j-hooks in tandem.
Most fish are running 15-18lbs however we have caught several over 30lbs using the same techniques.
