What a day...singer and songwriter Jim Morris from Punta Gorda was in town for show and wanted to go fishing, so you know we had to go..also joining us was Michael McKeever, manager of Bluewater Outriggers who sponsored the trip today.
We left early on "just one more" with Zach Ferrell as guide, this is one great fishing platform, 31 ft of speed and comfort. Zach took us to some bait spots about 21 miles southwest and we loaded up with hardtails and ruby-lips. Live baits and good hard bottom structure mean big fish, and we loaded up. Last count was 8 gag grouper and over 30 big snapper. We released the snapper til June 1, so anybody that wants to snapper fish better book early, they're big and hungry!
Zach is a accomplished fisherman and we will book his boat if speed and long distances are what you want. See our site under "sportfishing and meet the captains" for more information on this boat.
Jim Morris was a super guy, we enjoyed his concert on Saturday and I have a new favorite song, "another day in the office"....he obviously enjoys his work as much as I enjoy mine. Look for his BocaNuts web site and see his upcoming events...
