The fishing continues to be as hot as the weather, the sea temps are up to 84 and we are catching bigger kings and more snapper. Its been great nearshore with wahoo and mahi being caught within 9 miles of our beautiful beaches. We are still trolling dusters and cigar minnows, while keeping a spinning rig ready for the mahi or cobia that sometimes follow the mackeral to the boat. The snapper bite has been really good over some of the artificial structure, we are rigging spanish sardines or fresh dead LY's for bait on a spinning rig with about 3-4 ozs of weight. I rig mine with the weight right down on the hook, between the swivel and hook with a bead to protect the knot....keep in mind the snapper may not be on the bottom nor on top of the structure, sometimes they meander away as much as 100 ft, so cover the area around the structure and the entire water column.
